#13 Why so many kids can't sit still in school today

This article starts off by giving the audience background on the percentages of children who have een diagnosed with ADHD.  The percentages with in the last few years have only been increasing, which is cause by a number of different reasons.  One of them being the amount of time a child is required to sit while in school.  It is important that a child get a certain amount of physical activity per day, or the child will develop poor strength and balance.  With poor strength and balance a child's natural reaction is to begin fidgeting.  Fidgeting is seen as bad behavior in the classroom so kids are told to "stop fidgeting," or get a bad behavior report.  Fidgeting is a sign that the child's body is not getting enough physical activity.

In the future when I have to deal with this in the future I plan on providing my students with more activities that allow them to get up and move around.  We could go outside and I could come up with activities in all of the subjects that imply moving around.  I think that by giving the children activities what they will have to interact and move around, not only will they be getting physical activity and exercise, but this will also be able to be able to grasp the information more because it provides them with hands on activities.
